FREE FAMILY ACTIVITIES -
BRITISH SCIENCE WEEK
Saturday 17th March 10.00 - 16.00
Step inside Tower Bridge on Saturday 17th March for British Science Week, the UK's biggest celebration of science.
Take part in our FREE Family Activities and learn how to make music from the outlines of the London skyline with sound artist and composer, Duncan Chapman.
Next, head down to the Victorian Engine Rooms, where staff will be on hand to explain how the steam engines lift the mighty roads and why Tower Bridge is just like a giant water pistol!
Our family activities are FREE with admission and are open to children of all ages but are particularly appropriate for those aged 6 to 10.
Autism Friendly Early Opening
Tower Bridge opens early on selected Saturdays for children with autism and other needs, as well as their siblings, families and carers.
Families are able to explore the Exhibition and Engine Rooms in a calm, relaxed atmosphere and also take part in a family craft activity if they wish. Also available is our family trail, which visitors can complete at their own pace.
Download our visual story to help prepare for your visit.
Our Autism Friendly Early Opening mornings have finished for this year, but we hope they will return in Spring 2018! Please subscribe to our mailing list at the bottom of the page to be the first to know when new dates are released.
Family Trail app and explorer booklet
Designed especially for families, this handy app allows grown ups and little ones to discover Tower Bridge in exciting and interactive ways.
Transform your mobile device into a working wrench and tighten the bolts of a shaky engine; shovel coal into the boiler to power the bridge, and steer your boat safely along the Thames by tipping your phone from side to side!
We've also created a great new booklet which will entertain even the youngest visitor, bringing parents and children of all ages together for a day of family fun, exploration and imaginative learning.
