Summer visits with NCS: The Challenge
Over the summer months Tower Bridge was thrilled to be working again with one of our community partners, NCS: The Challenge, a charity which aims to bring together young people aged 15 to 17 from different backgrounds and asks them to take on new challenges, learn new skills and meet new people.
Having spent three weeks as a team putting together a community project affecting their local area on topics such as ‘assisting the elderly living with dementia’ and ‘raising awareness of mental health’, the visiting groups’ final challenge was to secure £50 investment by presenting their projects to a panel of dragons. The Tower Bridge team acted as the guinea pigs, helping them prepare to meet the dragons the following day by offering feedback and presentation tips to perfect their pitch.
While the groups also gained valuable experience with a tour of Tower Bridge Exhibition and learning about our jobs, our most rewarding part of the day was being guinea pigs and listening to participants speak about their projects with so much enthusiasm! It’s also a great opportunity to hear more about the interesting and varied community projects running across London.
