New dates announced for Behind-the-Scenes Tours
Ever wanted to know what goes on behind the scenes at Tower Bridge? Now is your chance.
As the busiest period for Bridge lifts comes to a close, Tower Bridge is delighted to announce the return of the renowned Behind-the-Scenes tour. Taking place every weekend from November to January and resuming again for the month of March, these exclusive tours offer visitors a rare and extended tour of Tower Bridge. Book now to explore the fascinating structure of the Bridge, it's dynamic working areas and historic spaces.
Learn about the Bridge’s captivating history and construction from one of our expert accredited Welcome Hosts; view London life through our new spectacular glass floor, admire stunning panoramic views from the high-level Walkways and wonder at the original steam pumping engines, accumulators and boilers in the atmospheric Engine Rooms.
Follow the Bridge’s Senior Technical Officer to those areas normally out of bounds to the public, including the Bridge Control Room, the immense Bascule Chambers below river level and the Machinery Room, which houses the impressive hydraulics that power the lifting of the Bridge.

- This tour features steep stairs and is not suitable for anyone who suffers from vertigo, a fear of heights or a fear of confined spaces. If you have any access requirements please contact us before us before booking a Behind-the-Scenes tour.
- Please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the conditions - certain areas on the tour will be cold and damp.
- Attendees must be aged 14 or over to take part. Any attendees ages between 14 -18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
