2018’s Bascule Chamber Concerts
Building on the success of previous years’ Bascule Chamber concerts, composer and curator Iain Chambers returns to fill the atmospheric subterranean Victorian space in Tower Bridge with a brand-new programme of works in September 2018 as part of the Totally Thames Festival.
The programme features newly commissioned vocal works performed by the Marian Consort, a dynamic internationally-renowned young early music vocal ensemble who are recognised for their fresh approach and innovative presentation.
There will also be new site-specific music, alongside specially-commissioned spoken word performances from Rae Levine; plus celebrated tabla player Kuljit Bhamra MBE will perform an exclusive solo set.
Totally Thames is an annual season of surprising, diverse and accessible arts and culture throughout the month of September on, beneath and along the River Thames curated and managed by the Thames Festival Trust.
