What do we do to keep you safe?
The answer is lots.
There are the security measures you can see and of course the ones you can’t. We monitor the Bridge each and every day and all our staff are trained to ensure all our visitors have a safe, secure and enjoyable experience.
We work very closely in partnership with the City of London Police, the Metropolitan Police Service and members of the security services to ensure our security procedures are up to date and following best practice.
We also engage with the City of London Police on Project Servator and continuously focus on delivering a safe and secure environment.
CCTV
For the safety and security of visitors and staff, all CCTV cameras are monitored 24/7 by the Security Control Room. Our CCTV system consists of cameras internally and externally on Tower Bridge. A number of cameras are fixed, whilst others are PTZ’s (pan-tilt zoom). All images are live monitored in our CCTV Control Room.
By using CCTV we aim to:
- To assist in the prevention and detection of crime
- To facilitate the identification, apprehension and prosecution of offenders in relation to crime and public order
- To aid public safety
- To assist with the management of public highway
Code of practice
We adhere to the Government guidelines on CCTV usage.

What can you do?
All visitors have an important role to play by reporting anything that doesn't feel right, for example, an unattended item or someone acting suspiciously. You’ll never get into trouble for reporting a genuine concern and we’ll always take your report seriously.
If you see something suspicious, please tell a member of our staff who are positioned at various locations outside and throughout the visitor attraction. Get more information on what to look out for and how to report it at ACT.
