As London’s defining landmark, our team are taking steps to ensure sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, to create positive impacts for our communities now and in the future.

Tower Bridge Green Team
Tower Bridge has a local Green Team that focuses on day-to-day changes that can be implemented. The Team consists of members of staff across all areas of the Bridge, who meet every quarter to review initiatives that have been in place, gather new ideas and to implement change.
Tower Bridge have been awarded a Gold Award from Green Tourism for our sustainability work at Tower Bridge in 2024. The Green Team maintain the gold standard of our Green Tourism award while continuing to build awareness among staff and visitors to the Bridge.
- Paperless tickets introduced in April 2024
- Regular review of energy and water consumption via Green Team
- Automatic and manual push taps across the visitor attraction and back of house offices
- Staff across the charity attend quarterly volunteering days most recent days include Vauxhall Farm, cleaning rubbish from the River Thames, ….
- LED lighting
- Motion sensors in the Tower Bridge team offices
- Food waste bins available for staff in rest areas
- We encourage all visitors to the Bridge to use public transportation, walk or cycle where possible.
- Our procurement policies prioritise sourcing goods and services that are sustainable and ethically produced. We support local suppliers and choose products that have a minimal environmental footprint.
Green Tourism Gold Award
We are delighted to have been awarded a Gold Award from Green Tourism for our sustainability work at Tower Bridge in 2024.
The Green Tourism award is an external accreditation specific to the travel and tourism sector which acknowledges globally-recognised sustainability standards.
Our outstanding achievement score of 85% is one of the highest that has been achieved in the Green Tourism assessment.
City Bridge Foundation
Tower Bridge is part of City Bridge Foundation, whose Trustee is The City of London Corporation. City Bridge Foundation has signed up to the Corporation’s ambitious Climate Action Strategy.
Strategically, we adhere to City Bridge Foundation’s Bridging London 2020-2045 strategy in which one of their key values is to be sustainable, delivering all their activities and assets in a sustainable, ethical, and responsible way.

Tower Bridge events are exclusively managed by Social Pantry, an independent catering company renowned for its dedication to social and environmental responsibility.
Social Pantry is a certified B Corporation, reflecting their high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
Our partnership focuses on making sure events at Tower Bridge are as eco-friendly as they are memorable. Menus are designed with creativity and care, using seasonal ingredients and a zero-waste approach to deliver dishes that wow guests while keeping the planet in mind.
